Becky is a 2005 Pontiac Vibe, acquired after the passing of a friend in 2018. Becky had been loaned out several times while an aging Ford Escort wagon spent more time in repair shops than on the road. At the time she was known simply as “Lumpy,” a plain grocery-getter that nobody expected to become anything special.
Registered with the California DMV by management in May 2018, “Lumpy” was rechristened as “Becky” due to an agreement with a former co-worker with a bad memory, and her history truly begins.

By 2020 we were looking into making Becky into something more than a plain commuter car. The Becky Trek idea emerged: transforming her with a wannabe Trek cosplay: add custom stripes and numbering, and find a way to mock-up a pair of faux engine nacelles.
While researching striping kits and keeping our general lack of a real budget or ‘handy’ skills in mind, a rally stripe kit was found online and was immediately taken to heart: what Becky needed was a rally car look.

The stripe was ordered, a custom decal of “Becky” in script and a hood scoop. Once the stripe was in place the rear bumper was painted black and the bra ordered. The transformation into the Becky we know and love today had begun.
Over the following years Becky would finally acquire her hood scoop, more decals, hood pins, custom graphics, Team Becky Motorsports branding, merchandise, and even her own pin-up mascot. What began as a simple rally stripe project eventually became a rolling art project with a personality all its own.
